What do you consider good news? A new job or winning the lottery ? Good news is defined as something positive, encouraging, uplifting, and desirable.
A job or lottery winnings may be good, but they do not last. There is a message of good news that is eternal and brings hope that lasts forever. And “this is the message of Good News…that there is peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all.” Acts 10:36
Peace in the midst of this life can only be found in Jesus Christ. He was God made flesh. He lived. He died on a cross and rose again. That is the good news!
So what does this mean for you? You can have forgiveness and peace because Jesus died on the cross for your sins.
Like the turmoil of this world, our hearts are full of brokenness, pain and emptiness. Our human nature is sinful and has separated us from God. Only Jesus’ outstretched arms of mercy can reach out and rescue us. This is good news!
Do You Need to be Rescued?
You can simply pray to confess that you are a sinner and need Jesus’ forgiveness, turn away from that sinful life, and ask Him to take control. “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.”Acts 3:19.
He rescues you from the chains of depression, bitterness and addiction. Every lie, every angry word, every shameful act, every sin is then wiped away and forgiven. In surrendering your life to Jesus, you now have eternal life with Him and a new life full of peace and hope.
“And "this is the message of Good News…that there is peace with God through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all." Acts 10:36
Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Tim 2:15
